The 24-year-old female victim suffered a C-shaped open wound on her right cheek after being brutally and repeatedly stabbed by an 'unknown local Chinese man'. This occurred at about 11am last Tuesday when she was jogging along Khatib Bongsu Park Connector at Yishun Avenue 9. She also suffered multiple cuts to her neck, upper arm and back.
The assault was so brutal and frenzied, that while the victim struggled, the six-inch knife was forced to break off at the handle.
According to police reports and the photofit picture, the attacker is believed to be in his 30s, and stands at about 1.7m tall. He is decribed as having a tanned complexion.
Ms Rachel Soh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, said "After the assault, the man ran towards the forested area opposite Yishun Ave 6, just next to the foreign workers dormitory".
So dear readers - be sure to remain vigilent, and if you saw anything that might assist police, or if you recognize the crazed stabber, contact your local police immediately!!
