Narcissism 101 - Tucker Carlson At His Backward Best

As usual I am not going to comment on US politics, and I don't think an assessment of Tucker Carlson's political leanings is even necessary. Having said that, it's been interesting of late that many advertisers have been pulling media campaigns (again) from his show, "Tucker Carlson Tonight" on Fox News Channel here in the United States, due to his latest thoughtless and uncaring comments on sensitive issues that affect so many people.

When would the next ice age have happened?
- Tucker Carlson

This made me wonder why his TV show continues to garner such strong ratings and viewership. Upon reflection, I think it's actually very obvious - the guy is a train wreck (and his hair is even worse). It's one of those things that are so bad, you just cannot look away. It's kind of like the popularity of "The Jerry Springer Show" in the 90s... just so very bad that it's fun to watch.

Narcissism 101

Herein lies the reason that even I tune into Tucker Carlson from time-to-time. It's just so unbelievable, offensive and hilarious all at the same time. The hilarity comes about from his attempts to be knowledgeable on so many subjects (and he believes in his own intelligence without question), when in fact Tucker knows very little about anything at all. His positions are more often than not, xenophobic, discriminative and downright offensive to pretty much any person with even an ounce of common sense - and his narcissism is always on full display. When he clearly cannot argue with any authority on any subject, he resorts to insults and disrespect toward his guests.

In all fairness to Tucker - he absolutely believes what he is saying, regardless of how ridiculous, ignorant and narrow-minded his opinions are. Tucker just knows no better and lacks the self-awareness to do anything about it.

So without further ado, for folks that have not had the pleasure of watching Fox News 2020's version of "The Jerry Springer Show", check these few nuggets out - Tucker Carlson at His Backward Best.

1. Tucker Carlson v Bill Nye - Tucker has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. As he gets completely owned by Mr Nye and realizes that he is out of his depth, he resorts to insults and rhetorical questions... seriously - exactly when would the next ice age occur without global warming? *shaking my head*

2. Next Up - White Supremacy - this is why advertisers balk at his comments and opinions, but it's also why his viewership is so significant. How can people not want to see the small-mindedness and unbelievable xenophobic positions of Tucker... *one just cannot look away*.

3. Finally - the day that Rutger Bregman decided to play Tucker at his own game... obviously, the segment did not air.
