This Is Home - Keeping It Together (Prepare for the goosebumps on your flesh and hair on the back of your neck to rise up)

I'm a couple of weeks behind with this, but given that I've just today arrived back to Singapore after three+ weeks away in China, I think perhaps it couldn't be more timely.

Back in 2008, Kit Chan recorded the hit song, 'Home' for the Singapore National Day Parade. Now, two and a half years on, a new campaign has been launched to remind Singaporeans that this great country "is worth defending on all fronts, simply because it’s home".

So here you go, 'Home' - written by Dick Lee and performed here by "39 local singers from across generations including Max Surin, Maggie Teng, Sheik Haikel, Stefanie Sun, JJ Lin, Taufik Batisah, Olivia Ong and more! They are accompanied by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO)".... be prepared for the hairs to rise on the back of your neck and the goosebumps to break out on your flesh!!

After you watch the video, read on for more information on the campaign and how you can get involved.

From the 'Home' Website:

ABOUT THE 'HOME' MUSIC VIDEO

The "Home" music video is a new arrangement of the well-loved Singaporean classic written by Dick Lee and first sung by Kit Chan. To be launched on 15 February 2011, the music video brings together 39 local singers from across generations including Max Surin, Maggie Teng, Sheik Haikel, Stefanie Sun, JJ Lin, Taufik Batisah, Olivia Ong and more! They are accompanied by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO).

The music video was directed by regionally-renowned Orion Chou and produced by Full House Communications. Kit Chan, the executive producer of the music video, pulled together long-time collaborators and icons of the local music industry Goh Kheng Long and Dr Sydney Tan as music producer and vocal producer respectively.

After the music video is launched on 15 February 2011, it will also be screened on free-to-air television and streamed on the campaign website www.thisishome.sg. The song will also be played on local radio stations.

The making of the "Home" video is captured in the limited edition book "Because It's Home". Find out more about the book and how to get a copy here.
